Our Leadership
Dan has 40 years of experience in public education, including that of a paraprofessional, a teacher, assistant principal, principal, director, assistant superintendent, and superintendent. He also served as a board member on a BOCES. In the middle of his career, he worked for a private non-profit to support charter schools across the country in developing strong curricular programs between his roles in public schools in Florida and Colorado.
In addition to serving as Executive Director of CLAS, Dan is currently involved in a number of educational endeavors both in Colorado and across the country. Dan has served as Superintendent of Schools in Elizabeth & Durango, as well as a Zone Superintendent in El Paso County 49. Prior to becoming a superintendent, Dan served as Assistant Superintendent in the Harrison School District as a district leader and principal in Douglas County Schools. Dan is especially proud of his efforts to refocus public education on their main mission – educating students and ensuring parents retain their rights to make important decisions for their children.
